Bassist Spyros Olivotos and his personal project Sidus present the single “Pale Dot” which is available from the band’s bandcamp page.
The song is a reference to the photograph of planet Earth taken by the Voyager 1 spacecraft on 14 February 1990. It is also a conceptual continuation of the song “Prototypes / Replicas” which was released in the summer of 2020 and which explores the philosophical question of nature versus nurture.
“Pale Dot” depicts the same existential question from a more distant perspective, observing human behavior and the interaction between humans and our planet from space.
The song is also accompanied by a music video based on Carl Sagan‘s book “Pale Blue Dot”, created by the graphic design project GriangG and the commentary was a collaboration between the artist and Carlos Non Somnia.
