Biography
Hostage of Fate is the musical aspiration of Achilles Karageorgiou, formed by him and George Adamidis in 2008 on the island of Rhodes, Greece.
Their debut album “At First Man Tried to Create God…and He Succeeded” (2013) was met by unfeigned positive reviews, praising the old school vibe of another age where genres didn’t really matter and everything was simply “metal” and this has been their main goal since day one.
That death / thrash style changed in 2016, where grindcore and hardcore influences found their way into shorter songs, with more blast beats and aggression while retaining an ear for melody and harmony. Two albums were released that year, ” II – Hostage of Fate” and “III – To Bring you Back” along with the EP “It Takes Life“. Raw mixed drums characterized by their unorthodox sound and electric guitars, sharp and overdriven – every single piece, written with genuine love and passion for music.
This year finds the band more musically mature than ever. The ever so dreaded pandemic, in all of its bleakness and sense of solitude that covered our world for the past two years, was the era of reinventing every single piece of music that was to be part of this new album. Hostage of Fate, with the influential contribution of Thanos Bikos behind the drum kit and the production, brought into existence an album that they couldn’t be prouder of.
Their new, full-length album, “Blessed Light Blue” is still staying true to the style they established back in 2016, this mixture of all things metal, punk, and grindcore, and the idea that genres shouldn’t matter when it comes to creating real music.
12 songs that incorporate their many influences while maintaining the punch-in-the-face approach of the fastest and heaviest forms of rock that they have always loved.
